Data Deletion Request
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, what we are legally required to retain, and how to submit your request.
Ready to submit your request?
Email us from your registered address with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
Response time: We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days of identity verification, in line with GDPR and applicable data protection law.
How the process works
Submit your request
Send an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your Social Maze account. Include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line.
Identity verification
We will send a verification email to confirm your identity. This step ensures we only delete data belonging to you and protects you from unauthorised requests.
Request processed
Once verified, we will begin deleting your personal data across all our systems. You will receive a confirmation email when the process is complete.
Confirmation sent
We will email you a final confirmation that your data has been deleted, along with a summary of any data we are legally required to retain.
What gets deleted
Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently remove the following personal data from our systems and backups within 30 days:
- Account profile — name, email address, profile photo
- Billing history and payment method tokens
- Connected social media OAuth tokens and credentials
- Scheduled and published post history
- Inbox messages and conversation threads
- Analytics data and performance reports
- Team member records and workspace settings
- Support tickets and correspondence
What we are required to retain
In some limited circumstances we are legally obligated or otherwise permitted to retain certain data even after a deletion request:
Anonymised, aggregated analytics
These contain no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to you.
Financial transaction records
Required by law for tax and accounting purposes for up to 7 years.
Fraud and abuse logs
Retained for up to 12 months to protect the security of other users.
Legal hold data
Where we are required to preserve data by a court order or regulatory obligation.
Third-party platform data
Social Maze accesses your social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) on your behalf using OAuth tokens. Deleting your Social Maze account revokes these tokens and removes our access permanently. However, any content already published to those platforms (posts, comments, messages) exists on the third-party platform and must be deleted directly through each platform's own settings.
We recommend reviewing the privacy settings of each platform you have connected to ensure any published content is managed according to your preferences.
Facebook / Meta data deletion
If you connected your Facebook or Instagram account via Social Maze and wish to remove the data we hold as a result of that connection, you can:
- 1.Via Social Maze: Submit a data deletion request to [email protected] and we will remove all data collected through your Facebook/Instagram connection within 30 days.
- 2.Via Facebook directly: Go to your Facebook account settings → Apps and Websites → remove Social Maze. Then email us to confirm you would like associated data purged.
This section satisfies the Meta Platform Policy requirement for a publicly accessible data deletion instruction URL.
